One of the girls loves distracting the classmates during lesson plan is being carried out.  She would walk here and there in front of the group or talk/play with the child beside her when the teacher is explaining to the group.  Each time we have to call her name to get her to sit for a while and then she will start her acts again.

One afternoon, I called her to a corner.  I started chatting with her about her behavior.  This is the first time I talked to her in a very serious tone.  Therefore, she looked nervous.

Me   :  What happened to you lately?  You do not listen to teachers anymore.

Girl  :  …….. (Quiet.  Starring at me and likely to cry!)

Me   :  Where are your listening ears?

Girl  : ………. (Silent again, but pointed her ears with fingers.)

Me   :  I think the listening ears are not working anymore because you are listening!

Girl  : ……….. (Still silent.  Eyes are teary now.)

Me   :  I think the hair is too long that it covered the ears.  Is this true?

Girl  :  ……….. (She nodded her head and smiled.)

Me   :  I know you are a good girl who listens to teachers and follow instructions.  It’s not nice to distract      your friends as they want to learn too!

Girl   :  ……….. (nodded her head.)

I let her continue her work after this.  However, she repeated her same behavior after an hour.  This time I asked her if she likes to sit in a corner to think about her behavior.  She nodded.  I sat her at a corner away from the group.  I asked her again, “Where are your listening ears?”.

She answered me, “My ears are hiding behind my hair!“.

I almost faint!
