I don't have a child of my own. So, I have to appreciate the moment I spend my time with children in the school. Also my niece and nephews..they grow so fast! I used to hug and kiss my youngest nephew. I'm his favorite too. Now he has grown up so much he won't let me hug and kiss him anymore cos he said he's a big boy, but he's still a baby to me! It's beautiful in that you deeply care for a child. I have three, and as they get older, I do miss those days when they would hold my hand, or want to be carried, or need help getting their shoes on. So, I say appreciate all these moments (I think you do). My youngest son still holds my hand, and I crave that very much, and want it to last forever. Knowing that one day soon, he will become more independent, and holding Dad's hand will not be cool. For now, I'll take what I can get... I’m a fulltime mom who practically sees my kids grow everyday and spend heaps of time with them, but even though I go through challenging times too going through my days with them, I know I’ll still miss their childhood when they grow up later. Being a fulltime mom is a choice I never regret.
