If we want to nurture a loving child, we have to be loving first! I wrote an article last month about the issue..I wonder how many of you are practicing it?! For those who are practicing it, how does it feel? I’m sure that hugging each other gives you good feelings. So, remember to hug your child and your love ones every day!

As a teacher, I have made it a habit for my children to give me a hug in the morning when they reach school. If a child is in bad mood, a hug will soothe him immediately. That is the time he will tell you why he’s not in good mood that day. After a little heart-to-heart chat, a smile will show on his face again and he’ll be enjoying himself throughout the day. That’s important to be able to nurture a happy child, because it will develop positivism in him and increase his self-esteem which important in his learning.

Every morning, my children will come to me with a smile and give me a hug. Sometimes they tend to forget, I’ll just open up my arms, and they will smile and run to me. What a nice feelings! Even though I’m just writing it now, but I can feel it - warm and sincere hug!

If you are a parent, please do hug your child today and give him a kiss on his cheek or forehead to tell him how much you love him! If you are a teacher or care giver, give your child a hug to let him know that you do love and care for him! A child that feels love all the time is calmer because they feel safe and secure. Lets nurture a loving and caring society from this moment onwards by hugging those around us especially our child!
